People sharing an Ethiopian injera meal together

Our story

Connecting communities through East African cuisine

ET Dining is the definitive directory of Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants across the United States — built by the community, for the community.

Why we built this

Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine is one of the most communal, vibrant, and deeply rooted food traditions in the world. Sharing injera around a mesob is more than a meal — it's a ritual of togetherness that has traveled with diaspora communities to every corner of America.

Yet for years, finding an authentic habesha restaurant in an unfamiliar city meant asking around, scrolling through generic review sites, or simply going without. ET Dining was created to change that.

We set out to build the most complete, community-driven directory of Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants in the US — a resource that honors the richness of this cuisine and makes it easy for anyone to find a taste of home, wherever they are.

Community first

Every listing is submitted and verified by members of the Ethiopian and Eritrean community. This directory belongs to the people it serves.

Nationwide coverage

From major metro areas to smaller cities, we're mapping habesha restaurants in all 50 states — no community left behind.

Authentic representation

We celebrate both Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine with equal care, honoring the distinct traditions and shared heritage of both cultures.

Built with love

This project is a labor of love from people who grew up eating tibs, kitfo, and zigni — and want the next generation to find it easily.

Help us grow the directory

Know a restaurant we're missing? Every submission helps a neighbor find a taste of home.
